Double the Fun!

Wow, lots of action out at Kelso this morning. As the crew set up the transition area for the Milton Triathlon & Duathlon, we had a fury of activity at the boat launch beach. Registration numbers doubled this weekend and we now have over 50 people registered for open water swimming.

It was a beautiful morning for a swim as the waves of people entered and exited the water the clouds broke and by the end the sun was shinning brightly and a beautiful day had emerged. Temperature continued to be around 65 degrees. A few thought it was colder than last week, stating the rain caused this and other thought it was a little warmer. No matter what the thoughts were everyone was able to complete their planned swims whether it was 500m by first timer Jeff White or 3000m by Marco Sadeghi, who is Ironman Louisville bound.

Our lifeguards have been doing a great job following the swimmers around the lake as well as checking everyone in and out of the water.

Safety is a big part of swimming in open water and we take it very seriously. Four lifeguards are present at every swim. Two follow swimmers on paddle boards, one roams in a motorized boat and one stays on shore.

If you haven't been out on the lake yet, please come join us or contact me for more information.

See you at the lake.
